What are you going to do?

  • Your main focus is working within the R&D Application Team, executing applicative tests aimed to evaluate and define the performances of new/optimized molecules, in comparison to existing molecules/benchmarks, as well as testing and investigating photoinitiator package supporting the Technical Service Team.
  • This means that you will proactively cooperate with the team on studying, implementing and optimizing a wide range of testing methods and developing, with a testing purpose, new formulations for energy cured applications by combining photoactive molecules, resins and additives, representative of inks and industrial coating business.
  • You will join technical cross - functional teams and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to work on specific projects and support the upscaling of new products working on validating finished goods and intermediates by selecting appropriate applicative testing sessions.

Who are we?
We are an important player in the UV technology market and specialized in producing raw materials for adhesives, lacquers and paints that harden using UV. Our head office is in The Netherlands, but we have more locations all over the world where we work every day on the success of our organization with a very international and customer driven approach.
We have grown rapidly in recent years and now we employ more than 700 employees worldwide: 110 belong to IGM Italy, mostly based in our production plant in Mortara (PV), some in our research lab in Gerenzano (VA). This position will be based in Italy (Gerenzano) with a direct reporting line to the EMEA R&D Application and Testing Manager.

Who are you?

  • You’re a chemist, a passionate technician with high curiosity around materials science, testing methods and laboratory culture in general: you enjoy working in a lab with an effective proactive attitude and strong sense of ownership and you know IGM, its products and their applications.
  • You like working in highly technical environments and you’re keen on experimental testing and proactively interact with internal or external stakeholders, chemists, analytical chemists and engineers. 
  • You can do this both in Italian and in English, given our international environment. 
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in formulation UV curable products and/or printing and industrial coating.
  • Your approach is client oriented and you’re a good listener, with proven ability to passionately cooperate with technical service teams with the task to translate needs in technical requirements and implement the related testing sessions.
  • You are a good team member and your curiosity drives you to find the best solution based on validated technical and scientific methods; you strongly believe that objective data are better than opinions.
